I was called to Harvestland in October of 1998. Since that time my wife, Pastor Carmen and I have been blessed to lead our congregation. Many changes have taken place over the last seven years. Our music at Harvestland is progressive. We have a contemporary style of Worship, with both visual and dramatic content. We have many instruments and sing upbeat as well as worshipful songs contemporary to our day.
We have introduced to our church a discipleship training program called INSTE, which means Institute of Theology by Extent ion. INSTE has two levels. Level one is four courses, Discipleship I. and II., Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey. Level II has 24 additional courses. You can earn a BA degree in Ministry upon completion of both levels and a two year Diploma for completion of level I. We have many other programs that minister to every age.
Five years ago the Lord began leading us in a completely new and exciting direction. We were lead to sell our old Church building, move to the Clarkston community and to build a new facility. At this time our construction project is underway and we hope to be in the new facility sometime after the first of the year 2007.
Harvestland is a caring congregation. We believe in being accountable before the Lord and our community of believers. We stress the fact that everyone is a minister and should in some capacity be serving the body of Christ. Every believer is encouraged to participate in friendship evangelism, though both individual and small group outreach. Fellowship is one of the life lines within the body of Christ. We encourage close relationships through participation in small groups and larger church wide gatherings. Our church makes a concerted effort to build up and strengthen every believers knowledge of Christ, their faith in Christ and their character as a reflection of their Lord. Every ministry is closely monitored to insure that the best trained leaders are lovingly delivering and living out what they are teaching.
At Harvestland we seek to connect people to each other and to Christ, so that we can effectively reach those seeking a real relationship with Jesus Christ. the church should be committed to helping every member discover their purpose and then help them fulfill that calling to the glory of our Father in heaven.
Christianity should be lived out through Discipleship, fellowship, evangelism and service. That is our goal for every believer who is part of our community.
Please know that everyone is welcome at Harvestland because everyone is important to God. We would love to have an opportunity to be a part of your life in Christ, (Psalm 1). May the Lord Jesus greatly bless your life and remember He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you could ever ask or think.
