Ladies Fellowship – October 2006
It was wonderful to see you at this month’s
meeting. We enjoyed the great food and each other’s wonderful
company. We shared a devotional on being a beautiful woman in Christ,
the need to work on our inner beauty more than our outward beauty to
truly glorify God.
Ladies Fellowship – November 2006
What a wonderful breakfast meeting! As
always it was a blessing to be able to meet together, and so many of us
too. Thank you ladies for all the wonderful dishes you brought to
share. We shared a devotional on being thankful. We heard about how God
instructed us to show praise. We also spent time reflecting on how
thankful we ought to be and how thankful we have been. As Thanksgiving
draws closer, it is a good time to reflect on how many ways God has
blessed us but remember we don’t have to wait till Thanksgiving
to give God the praise and thanks He deserves!

Ladies Retreat 2006 – Chicago
I don’t really think Chicago knew what has hit them when twelve of our ladies arrived there for their annual retreat!
Some of us knew one another very well, others
didn’t know one another much at all but I felt very blessed to
see people spending time together and seeing new friendships forming.
We got on the train at 6.40am in Pontiac and arrived, after some
delays, in Chicago at 3.30pm. At the hotel we found, unfortunately,
that they’d had to upgrade my room. The hardships we sometimes
have to go through! We had a small time of getting settled in our room
before jumping on the trolley to Navy Pier to dine at the Bubba Gump
restaurant. What a blast! Lovely food, wonderful atmosphere but best of
all, just relaxing with my sisters in Christ. After a little shopping
time at Navy Pier we headed back to the hotel where we had our bible
study/discussion time that lasted well into the late hours.
On Saturday we went for breakfast together before going
our separate ways to have fun. Some of us went to the museum, some to
the Aquarium and some of us went shopping on Michigan Ave. Two groups
of us met for a fabulous Italian dinner whilst the others enjoyed an
authentic Chicago Deep Dish Pizza dinner. We all came together again in
the evening for more bible study/discussion.
It was an early start the next morning, arriving at the
train station at 7.30am to come home. We may have been tired and missed
our families but I think we were all a little sad to be leaving one
another after spending such a lovely weekend together. Can’t wait
till next year ladies!
Ladies Fellowship – December 2006
What a lovely Christmas get-together we had. We enjoyed
food and fellowship whilst listening to some of our favorite Christmas
songs. After that we had a gift exchange. Everyone had a number and as
numbers were called randomly, we went to the table to choose a surprise
gift. But just to add even more fun to it, you could choose to steal
someone else’s gift. Of course most of our ladies were very
polite and didn’t do that but a few of us (myself included) just
couldn’t resist taking something that caught our eyes.
Isn’t it wonderful to receive a gift and not know what’s
inside? Our devotional talked about our most special gift that came
from Heaven, our Lord Jesus Christ. We heard of how we often, in the
midst of shopping and party planning we often forget the true meaning
of the Season – God’s Son and the love He has for each one
of us.
